My buddy and I used to do a variation of this using BB guns, he had a Daisy Red Ryder, I had a Crosman 760. What he had in rate of fire I offset in power and accuracy.

As kids in the 60s we wanted to do this in the salton sea. Bigger ships shooting 22 short rounds

That poor guy who decides to get an accurate RC model ship of the Russian aircraft carrier for this purpose... He''ll have to arrange it breaking down/catching fire on its own and needing tugboats in order to get in & out of the combat theatre. 😒
